Pakistan finally launches Special Technology Zones Authority to promote IT sector
PM Khan gives promises for great incentives for IT sector growth of Pakistan to promote the export of the Pakistan in IT Industry.
Pakistan has finally launched the most important Special Technology Zones Authority with the aim to promote the export in the IT sector.
“We should have taken this step earlier because of the pace with which this sector has been developing,” said Prime Minister Imran Khan while addressing the launch ceremony in Islamabad on Friday. “All IT companies benefited the most during the COVID-19 lockdown.”
Amer Hashmi, IT executive, and entrepreneur, has been recently appointed the chairperson of the this authority. Hashmi has done great strategic roles in big multinational companies such as IBM and MCI System House.
Pakistan is doing to minimise the hardships in the way of IT companies to progress and launch big export in the IT sector. “We want to incentive’s our IT sector so that it leads to job creation and increases our IT exports.” We hope to attract investment from abroad too, the PM added.
The authority, which was has been established after President Arif Alvi passed an ordinance on December 2, will mainly focus on encouraging to develop the scientific and technological mature framework in Pakistan. It will create technology zones and many enhanced industrial parks for the support of the software and tech industry.
